Ethertronics Ranked Number 1 in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Program for San Diego
Attributes Increased Need for Antenna Design for Various Mobile Devices to its 6,603 Percent Revenue Growth
Ethertronics, a leading provider of standard and customized embedded antenna solutions for wideband and multi-band wireless devices, has been ranked number one in Deloitte’s prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for San Diego. The ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in the San Diego area is released by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services organizations. Rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth over five years from 2002–2006.
Ethertronics President and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Crosby credits the company’s five-year 6,603 percent revenue growth to the increasing need for custom antenna designs and Ethertronics’ keen ability to design and manufacture embedded antennas to preset specifications. Ethertronics has a highly-successful track record of integrating its antennas into global manufacturers’ handsets, including Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and Symbol, as well as an innovative GPS watch from Casio and Bluetooth modules for HP notebook computers.
Additionally, the company recently unveiled the first of its SavviTM ceramic antenna products, including a Bluetooth only version and a novel GPS/Bluetooth combination antenna. Several additional Savvi products are expected to launch in 2007.
“Ethertronics has experienced an exponential period of growth, and we appreciate Deloitte’s recognition of our success,” said Crosby. “With the recent launch of our new Savvi product line and our on-going relationships with device OEMs, we look forward to continued growth and a strong future.”
Ethertronics increased its revenues 6,603 percent from 2002 to 2006 resulting in a number one ranking in the Technology Fast 50 for San Diego. Ethertronics topped the list with more than 2,700 percent growth over the number two company.
“Deloitte’s San Diego Technology Fast 50 companies have shown the strength, vision and tenacity to succeed in today’s very competitive technology environment,” said Theresa Drew, managing partner, San Diego Practice, Deloitte & Touche LLP. “We applaud the successes of Ethertronics and acknowledge it as one of the very few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past five years.”
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2002 and $5,000,000 in 2006, be headquartered in North America, and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies’ technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.
Companies from the 16 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America’s top 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies.
